Fees & Insurance

Straightforward answers
about what this costs.

My practice is private pay. Below is what you need to know about how that works — and what it makes possible.

Why I don't take insurance

Insurance-based practices require third-party oversight of clinical decisions — diagnoses required for reimbursement, session limits set by plans, administrative work that competes with the actual work.

Private pay removes that. Sessions are confidential and clinically driven. There's no required diagnosis to start, no pre-authorization, and no outside review. The work stays between us.

My practice is intentionally small and specialized so I can offer consistent, thoughtful, timely care.

Out-of-network benefits

Many insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits. You pay at the time of service and submit for partial reimbursement. The rate depends on your plan — some clients recover a significant portion of the fee this way.

I provide a detailed superbill after each session with the codes your insurer needs. You submit it directly. It's worth calling your insurance company to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before we start.

Payment

Payment is collected at the time of each session via credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card through the telehealth platform.

A 24-hour cancellation policy applies. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full session fee.

I don't currently offer a sliding scale, though I am occasionally able to make arrangements in specific circumstances. If cost is a significant barrier, mention it during the consultation — I'd rather have an honest conversation than have you not reach out.

The free consultation is a good place to ask anything you're still wondering about — including anything here.
